Choose Color and Finish. You begin by choosing the right color for the look you want. We suggest you go to Benjamin Moore to view all of their colors.  Their website is very intuitive and accurate. Or, if you're more hands on, you can go to Guiry's Paint Store where they have actual, viewable samples to purchase ($3.50 each as of this last publication). At Project Paint we are professionals in specialty finishes and offer a variety of different options. We use Benjamin Moore products to offer you a wide variety of colors.  Whether you want a simple, clean white or wish to add specialty finishes like distressing, glazing, or striping, we can do it all. If you are a DIY kind of person, and want a more hands-on experience of choosing color, we recommend a visit to your local Guiry's Paint Store. They provide small, premixed paint samples that can be applied to a small board to help you see what the actual color is. When placed in your kitchen to be seen at various times of the day (varying light), you can get a good feel for what the color will look like in your kitchen when the painting is complete.

Schedule Work to be DoneOnce you have decided on a finish, we will schedule your work to be completed. Most often we can meet your scheduling needs with an average wait time of two weeks. Depending on the size of the job, we can complete your cabinets in a relatively small amount of time. For example, a small kitchen requires 2 1/2 days to complete from start to finish, whereas a large kitchen can require 3 1/2 - 4 days to complete. We understand that it can be a little stressful to have your home and routine disrupted for any period of time due to contractors working in the home, so we try to make it as low impact as possible.

Cabinet Door Preparation. The work begins by removing all cabinet doors from the cabinet boxes. Each door is thoroughly cleaned with TSP (tri-sodium-phosphate) and well sanded to create a super clean, smooth surface to which paint can correctly mechanically adhere. This step is critical to insure that the products we use will create a durable kitchen-ready surface to last many years without chipping or peeling. We then bring the doors to our spray booth where they are sprayed with two coats primer and two coats of paint. We use the best paint materials available, which provide outstanding coverage and hide. It cures to a hard, furniture-quality finish.

Kitchen Preparation. On the following day we prepare your kitchen for painting by masking and creating a plastic bubble to isolate the rest of your home from dust created by sanding.  We mask and paper, covering all surfaces including appliances, countertops, sinks, floors or light fixtures to protect from paint or overspray. We then thoroughly clean and sand all surfaces to be painted.

Painting Process Begins.  followed by the application of two coats primer and two coats of paint to provide even and full coverage.  The products we use provide outstanding coverage and hide, and cures to a hard, furniture-quality finish. Customers may opt to add  Clear Lacquer/Poly Finish Coat 'low sheen satin' - This light-fast, non-yellowing finish with exceptional clarity and excellent durability will increase your cabinet finish durability by 50%.

Mask Removal and Completion. When paint is completely dry, we remove all paper, masking tape, plastic. We reinstall hardware on doors and drawers, followed by rehanging doors and replacing drawers.

Once all steps are finished, we do a complete walk through with you to make sure that each and every detail is to your satisfaction and that you are happy with your brand new kitchen.
