Interior Painting services for Highlands Ranch and surrounding areas

INTERIOR PAINTING  We are a full service painting company serving Highlands Ranch and Littleton areas. We are interior painters who paint everything interior - walls, ceilings, and trim and woodwork, as well and basement. We can remove wallpaper and paint - our painters paint any type of drywall texture: trowel, orange peel, popcorn, or stomp. We paint all trim whether it is stained or previously painted wood on baseboards, doors, door jams, or window sills. We paint all ceilings with any texture (vaulted, too). We paint fireplace mantels even if made of brick, and can paint over stain on any surface. We paint staircases and balusters, too.
OUR PAINTING PROCESS sequence revolves around protecting all surfaces through the use plastic, drop cloths, masking paper, and tape. We patch all specified holes, leaving those to be used again to rehang previously placed prints or paintings. We apply primer to that which requires it, sand surfaces where needed and apply 1 or 2 coats of premium paint to achieve the desired results.  All trim and woodwork is either brushed, rolled or sprayed with a paint sprayer.  Walls are always rolled and brushed in. Ceilings are usually rolled and brushed as well, unless professional spraying can be done.

OUR MATERIALS  Environmentally friendly products are growing more popular, paint companies are offering paint labeled either "Low VOC" or "No VOC." While these labels sound positive, it's important to understand exactly what they mean so you can make an informed decision when buying paint. Our painters use brands that have no VOC options.  These are Behr, Benjamin Moore, and Sherwin Williams.

LOW VOC  VOC paints have reduced amounts of volatile organic compounds, which means they don't off-gas as much as higher VOC paints.Low VOC means that it is low compared to other more traditional paints. There have been no standards created as to how ‘Low” was created, It's simply measured in comparison to other paints. Paint brands that have low VOC options include Behr, Farrow & Ball, and Para. However, this is not an extensive list as other paint companies offer low VOC options as well.
NO VOC  Paints stated as “no VOCs” have zero organic compounds in them. They still contain harmful organic compounds though. In fact, the paint tinting process can sometimes add some VOCs. If there are family sensitivities to certain aromas, they may not have the same protective properties as low VOC paint, but can be a great option. Brands that we use that have no VOC options are Behr, Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams and there are other paint brands that make non-toxic paints as well.

HOW TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE  Paints do have advantages in that there is very little odor, but there is still odor. Even though they are still in process of perfecting them, they do dry quickly, provide good coverage, and offer a durable finish. Application can be painted on many different surfaces. They are easily purchased and applied in over 3000 colors. Some of the paints do contain chemistry that isn’t completely safe. It can be important for some to know what the paint they are going to use is made up of.  Many of the mainstream brands are similarly made and contain the same chemistry.

FINDING THE LEAST TOXIC PAINT If it is important to you to have a green home, look for paints that are labeled "non-toxic" or "natural, zero VOC." They will list online for each product what they contain as far as chemistry, so look for 5g/L or less of VOCs.In addition, you may find it helpful to ask your local paint store professional about which paints are the safest regarding aroma and VOC.
